Sports Injuries

Specialist in Sports Injuries

Sport is part of everyday life for many Australians.  We love participating in it, we love watching it, and it’s part of the fabric of our culture.

Unfortunately, this love of sport and outdoor activity can lead to sporting injuries.  Fractures, dislocations, sprains, strains, and ligament injuries are all common.  The majority of minor injuries can be managed with Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation (RICE) in the acute stages.

As with any medical condition or emergency, your first point of contact will be with either your GP or the medical team in the emergency department, depending on the severity of the injury and urgency of treatment.  You may be referred to an orthopaedic surgeon immediately, or later if your recovery isn’t going to plan.
